Computing Lab Registration
The Computing Lab Registration process is used to set up a PI's lab group in the Chematix accounting database, and to create the lab group's directory structure on the RCC's high-performance computing (storage) systems. The PI will identify a Bookkeeper, and optionally, a Lab Supervisor, on the request form. The Bookkeeper is the person who will manage financial account assignments to members of the lab group, and the PI or Departmental Accountant can be the Bookkeeper for his/her lab. The Lab Supervisor is an individual who, in addition to the PI, can manage members of the Lab Group.
You wll see a confirmation page upon submitting the form, and you will receive a form letter (within two business days) when the request has been processed. Following set up, you can modify the identities of the Lab Supervisor and Bookkeeper via the User Management Database (Chematix).
As part of this process, you (the PI) and the Lab Supervisor will automatically have User Accounts created on the RCC's high-performance computing systems. You will receive a second form letter when those accounts are ready for use, with instructions for obtaining an initial password and logging in.
