How has the UGA research community contributed materially to the RCC?
In the last several years, the RCC has begun to host equipment acquired by researchers on campus. This is a new, expanded, role for the RCC and is possible as a result of the staff contributions of the OVPR and CIO. This "hosted service" fills a significant need on campus to care for equipment dedicated to specific projects in a secure and controlled manner.
Equipment is acquired, often at reduced prices in consultation and with the input of the RCC management and staff and is chosen to be compatible with existing equipment and resources.
