The IBM p655 cluster (pcluster) is comprised of 32 8-CPU Power4 nodes, each with 16GB of RAM. The nodes are interconnected via dual gigabit-ethernet channels. It uses the LoadLeveler queueing system.The primary use of this cluster is for code (Fortran, C, etc.) compilation, but several public-domain scientific software packages are also installed.
